There is some education on Island, the University College of Isle of Man offers diplomas in Creative Media Production & Technology and a Bachelor of Art in Visual Communication through Digital Media. Also, the Island’s media businesses provide essential ‘on the job’ training and experience to their staff.
Island Media Studios is a purpose-built studio complex for film, television and other media production. It is a key player in the Isle of Man film industry and has helped to attract many of the 100+ films that have been made on the Island. With state of the art facilities, 5,000 square feet of office space and ample parking, all set in idyllic surroundings, Island Studios is ready to take projects from vision to reality.
The studios feature two modern and well-equipped sound stages totaling over 11,000 square feet. The studio complex also features a fully functioning workshop, professional commissary and suites designed for media production or production support.
The Isle of Man provides numerous events in Motorsports including the world’s oldest motorbike race, the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy or TT. On top of the island hosts the Classic TT, the Southern 100, Motor Cross events, Classic Car and Super Car rallies and races. A special regulation enables producers to apply for road closures for filming, to use the Jurby Airfield for filming of cars and bikes, or one of the various off-road tracks.
