During 2011 and 2012 I have gained valuable experience in making short films. I produced a Manx-language short titled 'Solace in Wicca' and was Art Director for "Scene Stealer” challenge to recreate a scene from 'The Graduate'. I also shadowed experienced crew members and improved my technical knowledge on short film 'I Do'. I have a driving licence but I do not currently own a car.

Nathan Russell-Raby

Writer/Director with thirteen years experience of Film and Digital Media Production, having produced big budget short films, corporate videos, event coverage, documentary and awareness videos, music videos, and online comedy shorts. Most recently, I have written a feature film now in development with Pinewood Pictures, and have produced Mood Reels for several upcoming Pinewood productions.

I have a keen interest in story telling, pop culture, comedy and the arts, but my main focus is on creating high end entertainment that can inspire a passion in the audience.

I am in the second year of a BSC in Film and Television Production at York University in September 2015. I have been writing and making short films since I was 13.

I’m passionate about the film industry and hope to develop a career in filmmaking.

In 2015 I worked as a production runner on Mindhorn and have just completed the first part of an internship at Andy Serkis' Imaginarium, where I worked in the office, reading scripts and manuscripts and writing reports. I also spent a day working in the motion capture suite, assisting the technicians with the preparation for a music video shoot.

During university vacations, I work at the Isle of Man Broadway Cinema as a projectionist and in customer service. I have also supported both the Isle of Man Film Festival and Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York.

I have a full, clean driving licence and access to my own vehicle.

I would love to gain more experience on a professional feature film. Being given an opportunity to work as a trainee would be fantastic and really helpful for my university course and future career.
