Set in Ivory Hall, the film focuses on the airhead Emily (Cates) and the dolt Edward (West), raised by their doting Aunt Agnes (Scales).
Emily has a close encounter with the hunky George (Pertwee), a local villager far beneath the Ivorys on the social scale. And yet Aunt Agnes decides to take George away from his dad (Glover) on their trip to Italy, along with the other servants and a patch of the estate lawn to remind them of home. They next move on to India, where they meet Horace (Ustinov) and things turn a bit nasty for our hero.
