The Harpist (1996)

Living on a remote island in the Baltic Sea, Ferdinand Rupitsch dreams of the day when he will become a writer. His life however, changes when he meets a beautiful Irish harpist, Rebecca. Mesmerised by her beauty he seeks every opportunity for chance encounters. Unsuccessful in his endeavours, he meets Henry a sophisticated and enigmatic stranger who teaches him to get closer to Rebecca.

Under Henry’s guidance Ferdinand follows Rebecca to Hamburg, rents a room opposite her apartment and slowly engrosses himself in her life.
